Alaska has long been at the top of the list for sexual and domestic violence. Many initiatives necessarily focus on crisis intervention and critical direct services with many fewer initiatives focusing on prevention. DESCRIPTION:First Session: Youth Voice Workshop\nAYDC is excited to offer a new hybrid lunchtime professional development session designed to support youth-serving professionals with meaningful midday learning. These one-hour gatherings are built to fit into your schedule while providing space to reflect\, share\, and grow with others in the field. \nWhen: Wednesday\, June 12\, 2025 | 1-2 PM \nWho should attend: Open to all AYDC members and partners. \nLocation: Hybrid via Zoom and In-person (location TBA). \nTopic:  \nExplore what it means to meaningfully center youth voice in programs that serve young people. Participants will reflect on the value of youth voice\, discuss challenges and opportunities\, and walk away with practical tools to elevate youth leadership and decision-making in their own settings. \nFacilitator:  \nAlysyn Thibault\, Executive Director of Anchorage Youth Court\, will facilitate the session. A lifelong advocate for youth\, Alysyn brings a wealth of experience as both a former youth member and a longtime educator. She has worked with youth in schools and the justice system and currently serves on state and national youth court boards. She is also a member of AYDC’s Leadership Team.
